On my honor, I will do my best;
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
Now that we’re in full swing and the timer construction is complete, we’re ready for Pinewood!
Really looking forward to seeing all of your creations! Who will be fastest of the day? Who was the most creative? I don’t know yet but I’d bet there are some pretty cool cars out there made by our scouts and families.
Right now weather is looking like snow will start about 2:00pm and drop 8-10 inches on us overnight. I anticipate being done racing by noon, this will leave plenty of time until the snow starts flying.
I think we can all agree that we’re excited for the festivities and we’ll see you Saturday, January 19th at 10:00am for the races!
I think we can all agree that we’re pretty excited about Pinewood Derby this year!
Cars have arrived from Baden Powell Council and we’ll be looking to distribute them to your scouts. We will be meeting on Thursday, December 27th, 6:00pm-7:00pm, at St. Paul’s to hand out the cars, this will give you approximately 3 weeks to get at car assembled and painted.
Pinewood Derby is going to be held 10:00am on Saturday, January 19th. The theme for this year is “Monster Trucks.”
The venue has changed since last year, The LDS Church located at 430 Montrose Turnpike, Owego, NY 13827 has agreed to host us for this event.
Awards will be given per den and at the pack level for fastest time and best in show, extra points awarded for following the theme.
